ACTAsia is very proud of the commitment shown from veterinarian trainers in China. Fifteen certified Vets for Compassion (VFC) trainers undertook their own continuing professional development (CPD) training in Hangzhou; and on the back of this, initiated their own ‘train the trainer’ workshop.

The three day training working, in Nanning, was attended by 59 veterinarians for theoretical lectures and practical demonstrations in surgical standards and animal welfare. The practical program was attended by nine vets who learned surgical procedures and flank spay techniques.

Following this workshop, the veterinarians attended the Veterinary Congress in Dalian and manned a booth to promote the training program. The annual Congress hosts more than 2,000 companies and over 100 speakers with more than 11,000 people attending the Congress. As a result, the vet trainers were in direct contact with media representatives, veterinarians who are potential future participants in the training program and veterinary medicine companies and other supply companies – which all helps to raise the awareness of the ‘train the trainer’ (TTT)program in China and create opportunities for further development of the program.
