Isobel Zhang, ACTAsia’s China Manager, recently attended the UK Dogs Trust’s five-day International Training Programme on running a successful rehoming centre. The in-depth residential course is designed to help people involved with animal welfare throughout the world to gain valuable and free advice from UK experts. 13 other delegates from nine different countries also participated in the programme.

The course included a variety of subjects, from practical experience with animal first aid and defensive dog handling; veterinary advice about infectious disease, bio security and neutering, through running succesful fundraising and marketing campaigns.

Isobel says: “it was really interesting to learn from experienced people, on all these relevant topics. I feel privileged to have gained this knowledge and be able to share it with my animal welfare colleagues in my home country, for the benefit of homeless animals in China.”
